Debating is a valuable way for students to develop public speaking skills, research skills, and the ability to form and articulate strong and logical arguments. Each year, teams from Lanyon High School compete in the ACT Interschool Parliamentary Debates at the ACT Legislative Assembly, as well as taking part in other public speaking opportunities at the school and in the community. Debating is also offered as an Enrichment option, allowing students regular time each week to improve their skills and prepare for competitions and debates.
